The National Federation of Women’s Institutes is the largest voluntary organisation for women in the United Kingdom with 212,000 members.

The WI is naturally diverse. It offers all kinds of opportunities to all kinds of women. For some women we offer a chance to catch up with friends and also make new friends. For others it is a route to learning new skills, and, for some, the campaigning aspect of the organisation may be a key motivator.

Wendover Evening WI was formed in 1971 and is a thriving, vibrant group. We meet at St. Anne’s Church Hall, Aylesbury Road, Wendover, on the second Tuesday in the month. The meetings start at 7.45pm.

We have a very varied programme of activities and guest speakers throughout the year.

Members organise “Interest groups”; at present these include, play reading, music, craft and films.

The regular theatre trips and coach outings are always very popular.

The group is affiliated to the Bucks Federation of Women’s Institutes  which offers a wide range of activities from cultural, historical, multi craft, cuisine, sport – to name but a few. These are open to all members of all local WI’s.

Members also have access to a wide range of courses at Denman College, the National WI residential resource located near Oxford.

The WI, nationally, regularly campaigns on a wide range of issues. Each local group has the opportunity to contribute towards these campaigns.

Wendover Evening WI welcomes new members and details of our meetings can be found in the Wendover News What's On page, the Events section of this website or posted on the notice boards around the village.
