11th – 17th February 2017
The Story Museum, Pembroke Street, Oxford, OX1 1BP
Visitors to The Story Museum are in for a treat this February half term. The start of the week sees the opening of the museum’s brand new installation ‘Ever After’, an exciting and interactive space (designed by Tom Piper, MBE) where children and families can write, draw, film and record their suggestions for the stories that should become part of the museum’s future collection.
To celebrate the opening, the museum has put together a packed programme of events throughout the week. Things kick off with two brilliant water themed workshops form the clever folks at Science Oxford – guaranteed to make a splash.
The week continues with a brilliant event from Piers Torday, author of the award winning best seller The Last Wild. Piers will be talking about he began his career as an author as well as sharing the real life story behind The Last Wild trilogy.
Finally those with a creative streak won’t want to miss Shaun the Sheep model making workshops run by the brilliant Aardman Animations. As well as creating a Shaun the Sheep model to take home, participants will also have the opportunity to ask questions about the tricks of the trade from some of the studio’s top animators.
