Following on from the success of their 2016 Award winning production of Evita (NODA London Best Musical) and 2015’s sell-out production of ‘Sister Act’, Berkhamsted Theatre Company are bringing ALL SHOOK UP! to The Court Theatre stage.

Built around songs made famous by Elvis Presley, All Shook Up tells the story of a small town girl with big dreams and the motorcycle-riding stud she falls for. Librettist Joe DiPietro's tale of the cross-dressing, mistaken identity and romance that ensue was inspired by Twelfth Night and other Shakespearean comedies…….. It’s 1955 and when a guitar-playing roustabout rides into a square little town in a square little state everyone and everything changes.  The whole town is bewitched by Chad, a leather-jacketed  stranger just out of jail. Natalie falls for him, but disguises herself as Ed to befriend him instead. Chad meanwhile falls for Sandra but also has strange feelings for Ed….. but Sandra loves Dennis, the town geek and wannabe dentist, but he loves Natalie……. Natalie’s dad Jim loves Miss Sylvia, owner of the local Honky Tonk but she hasn’t been kissed by a man in years ……. And there’s all sorts of sexual tension between Sherriff Earl and the Mayor.……. And everyone is about to discover the magic of romance and the power of rock n roll!

Bringing together energetic storytelling, witty dialogue, bright visuals and fantastic music, ALL SHOOK UP! is a non-stop feast for the eyes and ears and will appeal to all the family and in the 40th anniversary of his death celebrates the music of Elvis Presley with new arrangements and harmonies.

ALL SHOOK UP! runs from 10-14 October 2017. Evening shows start at 7.30 pm with a matinee at 2.30pm on Saturday 14 October.
