A group of ESOL students (English for Speakers of Other Languages) studying at three centres with Buckinghamshire Adult Learning, have achieved some excellent results in their first set of Speaking and Listening exams this year. The 156 students achieved the following pass rates: 100% at Chesham, 95% at High Wycombe and 92% at Aylesbury.

Zena Sutcliffe, Head of Adult Learning said: "This is a great achievement and is such a significant help to the students in settling well into local communities and also in gaining employment. It is well deserved, reflecting the hard work of students and staff."

ESOL courses are a valuable nationally-recognised way for people to gain the language skills to help them take part in social, work and leisure activities. For more information about the courses, call 01296 398957 or 01494 778203 or visit www.adultlearningbcc.ac.uk
