Aylesbury Vale District Council shows its commitment to the local business community

  |  Published: Sep 6th 2013

Momentum is building behind the FSB Buckinghamshire Business Awards as Aylesbury Vale District Council (AVDC) agrees to become the latest high profile sponsor.

AVDC is backing the search for the Aylesbury Vale Business of the Year, which will have to show outstanding initiative, boldness and imagination, as well as sound management, sustainable growth and exceptional commercial success.

A spokesperson for AVDC said: “As small businesses are the bedrock of our successful economy, we are keen to do what we can to help businesses survive and grow to create jobs and employment now and in the future.

“As it is difficult to reach such a large audience of FSB members individually, AVDC is always keen to raise awareness about the active role AVDC is playing in supporting start-up businesses and in working to improve the infrastructure and the local business environment, working alongside partners to provide a cohesive business support service.

“We are keen to be involved in this event so we have a greater appreciation of the fantastic businesses in Buckinghamshire and the Vale and to remind businesses that we are always keen to engage with them and support them where we can.”

Aylesbury Vale District Council is in regular liaison with Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) representatives to ensure that the needs of its businesses are reflected in its business support activities – more detail can be found on www.investaylesburyvale.com

Local FSB Chairman Rodney Mallison said: “It's great to see a local council backing business excellence in this way. Following on from Mix 96 becoming our media partner, the FSB Buckinghamshire Business Awards are building a huge momentum. Our message is enter now and make sure you are a part of this successful event.”

The FSB Buckinghamshire Business Awards are for ALL small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) in the county, not just members of the FSB.

The awards are free to enter and each business can enter up to three categories. Judging is carried out by a panel with each entry being considered by at least four experts.
