Students at Aylesbury College are celebrating after receiving a 99 per cent pass rate in their A Level exams.

The results build on last year’s impressive pass rates with a 10 per cent increase in grades A*-B at AS Level.  A Level results in Film, Media Studies, Psychology, English Language, Communications and English Literature have been set apart for particular commendation, with a 100 per cent pass rate.

Students are now preparing for a range of pathways, with many heading to University, starting Higher Education courses at the College, or beginning their careers.

Principal Designate, Karen Mitchell, commented: ‘I’m absolutely delighted with our students’ achievements. These results really are testament to the hard work of both students and staff, who definitely have something to celebrate today.

‘Many of our students will be moving on now that they have completed their A Levels and we wish them good luck in their future work and studies. We hope that their time at the College will stand them in good stead for their future careers’.

The results follow the College’s recent ‘Good’ rating from Ofsted, and will be the last overseen by the retiring Principal, Pauline Odulinski, who was awarded an OBE for Services to Further Education in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list.’

Improving A Level results were commended in the College’s latest Ofsted report, which reflected that: 'The pass rate for A Level students has improved significantly and is now good.’
