College Forms Partnership with World's Busiest Wildlife Hospital

Aylesbury College is delighted to be teaming up with Tiggywinkles, the world’s busiest wildlife animal hospital, to provide Level 1, 2 and 3, work-based animal care training courses from January 2015. The College will help train Tiggywinkles’ staff, as well as advertising their courses to others who have a passion for working with animals.

Les Stocker MBE, Founder of Tiggywinkles Wildlife Hospital, commented: “Having offered Animal Care qualifications for many years at Tiggywinkles, we are so thrilled about this partnership with Aylesbury College, offering free places to 30 students each year, enabling more young people to get involved with caring for wildlife. We are getting busier and busier as a Hospital and we welcome the opportunity to share our experiences and expertise on wild animals with the students and give them the perfect starting point for their career in working with animals.”

The courses will take place at Tiggywinkles premises in Haddenham, where the students will be working hands-on with all the different species of sick and injured wild animals. They will be involved in cleaning, feeding, and learning handling techniques for all types of creatures, from baby birds, to swans, to deer and even a few reptiles! Along with their practical work skills, they will also learn soft skills such as dealing with the general public, teamwork, stock control and animal welfare legislation – all of which will help them in their future career with animals.

Tiggywinkles works tirelessly to support sick or distressed wild animals. They treat over 10,000 animal casualties every year, and their services are all free of charge.

To apply for a space on these courses, email through, or call 01844 292292.
