Over 250 guests attended the National Paperless Awards earlier this month to see the County Council scoop the top award for best use of e-forms for their new digital waste permit scheme.

The judges were impressed with the journey to a fully digital solution that allowed residents to receive their permits instantly rather than waiting almost a week, removing the need for 18,000 paper letters to be sent a year.

Bill Chapple OBE, Cabinet Member for Planning and Environment said, "We are proud to lead the way with these innovative e-forms, benefitting both residents and the environment. It’s also great that staff have their achievements recognised nationally under challenging budget constraints.”
