Local Face: Margaret Undery

  |  Published: Sep 1st 1993

No-one in the village could doubt the genuine commitment of Margaret Undery to the Weston Turville Festival which will take place from Saturday 11 th to Sunday 19th September.

The Festival started as a twinkle in the eye of Janet Collins, organist at St Mary's Weston Turville, which needs building maintenance work, particularly on the windows. The committee has decided to give all the proceeds to the PCC. Theywill decide how to split the money between church building and running costs and something for the village.

In less than a year Margaret has led a committee including Barbara White, Eileen and Les Pinder as well as Janet, of course. They have managed to organise a splendidly varied programme of events which should include entertainment for all tastes and ages.

At all events during Festival Week, and some besides, there will also be special Festival Souvenirs on sale including teatowels, jotters, notelets and specially produced Christmas Cards using a painting of Weston Turville Reservoir in Winter painted by local artist Alexander Jamieson (died 1937), by kind permission of Bucks County Museum.
