Sgt Mike Davies from Airmens’ Development Flight at Recruit Training Squadron, RAF Halton, attended a dinner in London where he was honoured to receive one of the Military Affiliates Achievement Awards at the Merchant Taylors’ Guild lodge in Threadneedle Street.

Mike was recognised for his unstinting efforts to improve, challenge and develop those recruits who have passed out of phase one training and are awaiting trade training. Squadron Leader Matt Tope, Officer Commanding Recruit Training Squadron, said: “Sgt Davies has individually taken on a role which was previously spread across three Senior Non-Commissioned Officers' primary duties and on a day-to-day basis is responsible for the direct management, welfare, development and instruction of up to 200 recruits. He always places the needs of the Service and his Section before his own and has directly contributed to improving the initial capabilities of those in the initial training system."
