RAF Halton in Armed Forces Day Flag-Raising Ceremonies

RAF Halton have been involved in local Armed Forces Day Flag Raising Ceremonies in Aylesbury and Hemel Hempstead. Lining parties provided a uniformed backdrop to the civic events and senior RAF officers represented the RAF Halton Station Commander at both venues.

Lord Lieutenant’s cadets Warrant Officer Sarah Aspland and Company Serjeant Major Georgia James had the honour of raising the Armed Forces Day Flag outside the civic offices in Aylesbury town centre.

Armed Forces Day flags were raised across the country, including No 10 Downing Street, to mark the start of Armed Forces Week and will culminate locally on Saturday 27th June with the a huge Buckinghamshire & Milton Keynes Armed Forces Day event at Aylesbury Rugby Club. Come along and ‘Show your Support’ to the British Armed Forces with discounted tickets for the event available online and from local libraries.

The Seventh National Armed Forces Day event will be held in Guildford and broadcast nationally. The Duke of York will take the salute accompanied by the Prime Minister and following the parade, there will be military displays, a flypast and live entertainment from Stoke Park.

On 24th June, Reserves Day saw Tri-Service Reservists wearing their uniform in their civilian workplace to convey the message that their military skills leadership, management and communications can be transferred to the benefit of their civilian employer.
