RNLI Fundraising in Wendover

Dr Colin Riley has long been a stalwart of many local Societies. Colin has been a local GP and served in RAF Halton and formed the Wendover Society, helped the PCC, St Mary’s stewardship schemes, Friends of Wendover Health Centre and Youth Club. Colin has also supported for three decades the Aylesbury and District RNLI Fund-raising branch.

Besides responsibility for local collection boxes he has organised the annual house to house collections from Halton to Ellesborough with the help of a group of much appreciated volunteer collectors. He has contributed much of his time to help raise funds to continue saving lives at sea.

After many years’ hard work fundraising, Colin has decided to retire. Please contact AylesburyRNLI@Gmail.comif you can help raise funds in the Wendover area.

Watch out on Chiltern Railways in September for a famous face from Looney Tunes, who is returning to collect on behalf of the Aylesbury and District RNLI Fund-raising branch. Their members will be out and about at local stations helping him raise funds to provide volunteers with the clothing and equipment needed to save lives at sea. Those saved could live anywhere in the world, not just from near the British Isles coast which is why he is visiting Wendover at this time of year. Give him your support – or at least a smile. If you miss him, watch out for the collecting boat in Hale Leys and the National MAYDAY appeal in 2016.
