Swing into action at Armed Forces Day and you could be a World Record Breaker!

Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes Armed Forces Day always delivers as a fantastic day out for all the family with something to suit everyone but this year’s event promises to top all previous celebrations with an additional attempt to break a Guinness World Record.

Headlining this year’s event at Aylesbury Rugby Club in Weston Turville, are the Jive Aces, the UK’s top Jive and Swing band. With their catchy music, colourful costumes and boundless energy, the world-renowned six piece group, who previously reached the semi-finals of Britain’s Got Talent, guarantee to get the audience up on their feet.

The Jive Aces performance at Armed Forces Day on 17 June promises to be extra special as the group aims to try and break a Guinness World Record as part of their act. The group, who have performed in front of HM the Queen as well as at thousands of festivals and events world-wide, will be attempting to break the world record for the UK’s biggest Swing Dance and they need your help to do it!

People are invited to watch a video of the dance routine and/or come to one of the specially organised workshops so they can join the attempt on the day. You don’t need a partner or any previous dance experience, just the energy and enthusiasm to get involved and have fun. There is also more information on the website:http://wrswingdanceuk.moonfruit.com/home/4593737083

To take part you will need to register but by signing up you gain reduced price entry to the event and can make the most of your day by enjoying the rest of the fantastic line up which includes a breath-taking air display, live music and entertainment as well as fairground rides, stalls and other attractions.

In order to break the world record we are hoping for 1,250 participants. The current record stands at 1,184 dancers and was set by the Cowboy Country Swing Club in Wyoming, USA on 30 April 2015.

Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes Armed Forces Day takes place every year and is a way of demonstrating thanks and appreciation to the men and women who serve and have served in our Armed Forces including veterans, reservists and cadets. The event opens at 12 and finishes at 7pm.

Sir Henry Aubrey-Fletcher, Lord Lieutenant of Buckinghamshire is looking forward to the day: “I can’t wait to see the Jive Aces take to the stage and get the audience on their feet. What a unique opportunity to be part of an attempt to break a world record!

“Even if you don’t want to take part in the Swing Dance routine itself, the Jive Aces and the other entertainment we have lined up will appeal to all and promise to make the day an event not to be missed.”
